Our Beliefs

Statement of Faith

At Calvary Baptist Church, we joyfully affirm the truths of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/).

The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is the supreme standard for all faith and practice.

God
We believe in one living and true God, who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each equal in power and glory.

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and now reigns as Lord. Salvation is found in Him alone.

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, and indwells, empowers, and guides Christians for godly living and service.

Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a gift of God, not of works, and results in a transformed life.

The Church
We believe the local church is a body of baptized believers united in Christ, committed to worship, prayer, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. The church’s mission is to make disciples of all nations.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience, remembering Christ’s sacrifice until He returns.

The Family
We believe God created marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The family is the foundational institution of human society, and parents are called to raise their children in the nurture and instruction of the Lord.

Last Things
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to the earth. God will bring all things to their rightful end: the righteous will dwell forever in heaven, and the unrighteous will face eternal separation from God.
